Silkscreen Printing Demonstration and Workshop.

Join “Printed Matter” exhibiting artist Tressa Jones for a demonstration and discussion of silkscreen technique followed by a DIY workshop making small handmade screens. We will work with paint as a resist to create hand drawn designs that can be printed again and again using the silkscreen process. This workshop will prepare you to create a silkscreen set up in your own home perfect for printing on clothing, apparel, and paper. Wear studio work clothes, and feel free to bring shirts or totes to print on. 

$20 fee includes all supplies.

Tressa Jones is an artist and printmaker living in Pittsburgh. She received her BS from the University of Massachusetts, completed Post-Baccalaureate studies in Printmaking at New Mexico Highlands University, and earned a MFA from the University of Montana. Her travels and creative research fuel her artistic investigation of time: and its manifestations in the body, landscape, and built environment. Jones's studio practice is complimented by work at non-profit arts organizations and educational institutions; she is currently the Printmaking Studio Manager at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Media.
