Stitch In Time---Meet the Sewing Machine

On Saturday, April 11 from 11am to 1 pm, seamstress Mary Ann Novak will discuss and demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills needed to tackle sewing projects using a sewing machine.   She will answer such burning questions as: What the heck is a bobbin?  What the heck is a presser foot?  Does the sewing machine have a “reverse?” What are all those accessories for that come with the machine?

Learn the basics of how sewing machines work, how to thread the machine and bobbin, adjust the tension, control the speed, and sew a straight seam.  Several sewing machines will be available for hands-on practice.  If you are new to sewing this is the workshop for you.  Raise your comfort level with this versatile, iconic tool that has so much creative potential!
